On DNA, RNA and other such stuff

DNA Song on Youtube

Central Dogma explained (spaceship isshtyle)

Main principle of central dogma:
DNA -> RNA -> Protein
  • DNA stores information e.g. codes for sequence of amino acids to form specific proteins
  • TRANSCRIPTION: writing by copying from one medium to another, as a typewritten version of dictation.
    Here copied from DNA to RNA (messenger RNA)
    Occurs inside nucleus
  • mRNA moves out to cytoplasm and attaches to Ribosome
  • Then mRNA TRANSLATED into Proteins
Other processes
REPLICATION: DNA -> DNA
SPLICING: RNA -> RNA
